The solution to ending hunger is within reach and everybody has a role to play. The «Zero Hunger Challenge» is an initiative that was launched by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2012 during the Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro. The United Nations will take this Challenge to Expo Milano 2015, demonstrating to visitors how it is possible to end hunger in our lifetime, how this can only be achieved if we work together and how they can and need to be part of the solution.

The Italian company, a world leader in wellness and the official supplier of the last five editions of the Olympic Games, will develop within the Universal Exhibition in Milan a thematic flow dedicated to physical activity, healthy lifestyles and fitness. The relationship between diet and exercise will be the central theme of Technogym's Wellness project for the Expo. Through the integration of fitness gear, apps, wearable devices, audio-visual technologies and wellness programmes, Technogym will showcase modes of movement and exercise that are accessible in everyday life and places: at home, at work, at school, the hospital, traveling, the gym, the pool and more.

Technogym supports the Short Food Movie project launching the contest on the topic "food and wellness". Wellness is the lifestyle that Technogym advocates. It is founded on three pillars: regular physical activity, a balanced diet and a positive mental approach. It is a lifestyle profoundly rooted in the ancient Roman philosophy, "mens sana in corpore sano" (“a healthy mind in a healthy body").

The School Project is a platform of discussion launched by Expo Milano 2015, targeted to the education system at global level: from preschools to universities.

The vision and values of the education system are vital in spreading the contents of the event and leaving a legacy to future generations. To that end, teachers and students are invited to take part in the upcoming Expo: they will be offered the opportunity to engage in a didactic «journey» », which begins with a classroom project focused on Expo Milano 2015 and culminates with a visit to the exposition site and will leave behind a wealth of knowledge and experience to future generations. Thanks to a series of competitions (for example the TIE2015 project by MIUR and PoliCulura-Expo by the Polytechnic in Milan) the best projects submitted by the schools will be introduced to the public at the Italian Pavilion during the Expo event.

Short Food Movie creates the opportunity to link the class work on the themes of Expo and the visit to the Universal Exposition. The pupils, involved in the contests, can share their creative ideas and the knowledge acquired in class by shooting a video about their experience and uploading it on Short Food Movie's platform with the tag “School Project". The videos will be part of a great collective work of art at Pavilion Zero: a unique opportunity to say “I was at Expo too!"

PoliCulturaExpoMilano2015 is an initiative created and organized by the Laboratory HOC – Hypermedia Open Center of Politecnico di Milano (Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering) on mandate of the organizers of Expo Milano 2015 in order to spread the next Universal Exposition themes in schools.

PoliCulturaExpoMilano2015 is a contest of Digital Storytelling that involves the production of multimedia narrative on the issue "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life" by school classes of all levels with the guidance of their teachers.

To help the working classes research material and online training courses for teachers are made available.

TOGETHER IN EXPO 2015 is the international school digital project promoted by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, targeting all italian and foreign schools, to make them become protagonists of EXPO Milano 2015.

TOGETHER IN EXPO 2015 takes place online exclusively, through the platform http://www.togetherinexpo2015.it/eng browsable in italian, english and french. This digital space is divided in two areas (the OPEN area and the COMMUNITY) and presents didactic materials, insight perspectives, storytellings based upon the thematic routes of the Universal Exposition. Moreover, it features and hosts a series of social activities called “MISSIONS": online based paths that, through games, quizzes and web activities, involve students in thrilling challenges.

The project also features a contest, open to submissions by all classes/teams that are part of the COMMUNITY, who just need to find a team partner of a country preferably different than theirs and prep together a submission, based on the theme of the Universal Exhibition: Feeding the planet, Energy for Life. Up for grabs, a trip to come and live live EXPO Milano 2015.

For the first time since 1851, wine will have its own area at Expo.
Vinitaly and Mipaaf (The Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies) present “VINO – A Taste of Italy", the Italian wine pavilion at Expo 2015: a journey through time, culture, and local vines.

One of Italy's greatest heritages will tell its story through the five senses and the Wine Library, the tasting room. Thanks to the collaboration with “Fondazione Cinema per Roma" and “Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia" it will be possible to upload short videos (min. 30", max 1') to www.shortfoodmovie.expo2015.org in order to explain the theme “Food & Wine, produce and tastings".

The best videos will be shown in the Wine Pavilion.
